Prof. Dr. Joachim Wuermeling, currently serving as lawyer of counsel at Allen & Overy and executive in residence at ESMT Berlin, brings a wealth of expertise to his roles. With a diverse professional background, including a notable tenure at the Deutsche Bundesbank including as Board Member, he has also spent over 25 years lecturing at the University of Potsdam and serving on the supervisory boards of Mongea KAG and DEVK Versicherungen. Educated in law, Prof. Dr. Wuermeling earned his Master of European Law from the European University Institute and completed his doctorate at the University of Bayreuth. Furthermore, Prof. Dr. Wuermeling actively participates in discussions on current topics, including digital finance and the innovative applications of the digital euro.
