Torsten Hunke (VanEck)

Torsten Hunke serves as the Head of Legal and Compliance for VanEck in Europe, a role he has held since 2014. He initially joined VanEck to facilitate the launch of VanEck’s UCITS platforms in Ireland and Luxembourg. Additionally, Mr. Hunke holds the position of Managing Director at VanEck (Europe) GmbH, overseeing the Frankfurt-based ETF business of VanEck. With over 20 years of experience in international investment fund and banking regulatory law, Torsten HUnke has a diverse professional background. He began his career as Internal Counsel in the Global Custody and Depositary business at Deutsche Bank AG. Subsequently, he worked for three years in the investment funds and banking regulatory department at Linklaters in Frankfurt and London. For the past decade prior to joining VanEck, Torsten Hunke served as a Director at Credit Suisse, where he led the EMEA Asset Management Legal Department. Torsten Hunke is a qualified attorney at law and a member of the German Bar Association. He pursued his legal education at the Universities of Hannover, Brandenburg, and Le Havre.
