Hagen Weiss (Dentons)

Hagen Weiss is a Counsel at the Dentons’ Frankfurt office and a member of the Corporate/M&A practice group.

His focus is on digital finance—especially DLT and Blockchain-related questions regarding regulated financial entities under MiFID, as well as topics arising in the context of the German Electronic Securities Act (eWpG), the Markets in Crypto Assets Regulation (MiCA) and the EU-DLT Pilot Regime. Hagen has been a significant contributor to the regulatory and legal framework for crypto assets and other digital representations of value in Germany as well as on the European and international levels.

Additionally—having worked as a public servant for federal agencies and for the German Federal Ministry of Finance—Hagen has extensive knowledge and experience advising on strategic regulatory decision-making. He also assists clients with issues related to financial sanctions and dispute resolution.
