Dr. Joachim Schwerin (European Comission)
Dr. Joachim Schwerin serves as a Principal Economist within the Directorate-General Internal Market, Entrepreneurship and SMEs (DG GROW) of the European Commission, guiding the unit dedicated to the Digital Transformation of Industry. He plays a central role in refining DG GROW's perspective on the Token Economy, Distributed-Ledger Technologies, and their integration into industry and SME frameworks. Specializing in blockchain, digital assets, and crypto, Dr. Schwerin focuses on implementing these technologies for the advancement of European industrial ecosystems. He oversees initiatives to enhance digital skills across these ecosystems and has been actively involved in key digital policy arenas, including the MiCA Regulation.
